3D Simulations of Biofilms using the Modified Cahn-Hilliard Equation

DescriptionWe present a 3D implementation of the modified Cahn-Hilliard (MCH) equation utilizing the Portable Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation (PETSc) to simulate the growth of a biofilm in an aqueous environment. Biofilm dynamics under shear flow are investigated for a variety of circumstances, and the parallel performance of the implementation is evaluated.
